Weather Spring Season of 1676
March
Early March flooding started all over England and Scotland, with the snow starting to melt and washing away in the many little rives and into the Thames. Even London suffered much hardship with some of the outer areas flooded and mud and what not in the streets right up to Whitehall. Cellars flooded. Things were spoilt.

December 23rd
After travelling all over Europe to find the finest gifts for his intended wife, Thomas Hamilton finally arrives at Windsor Castle in the evening to ask Lady Darlene for her hand in marriage. Yet Darlene is in doubt and turns him down. It takes some measure of persuasion before she finally submits and says yes. Read A Frosty Reception
Later that same evening Mrs. Dawes arrives at the castle as well, returning to Court after a long absence. Read What's in a name?
December 24th
Early in the morning, before dawn Lord Blackheath leaves his newly wed wife to go out in the cold. Read A promise kept
At dawn there was a duel between Lord Blackheath and the son of the Bey of Tunis. The challenge was issued last season by the Tunesian, giving them both a chance to heal from previous wounds. At stake.. a lady of course for Mistress Catherine had been saved from disgrace by Lord Blackheath after the Moor tried to repair the damage he did to her honor. Was it this being denied to him, his inherent guilt or the secret desire both men felt for yet another lady that caused the Moor to challenge Blackheath? At any rate he paid for it with his life. At that same time the object of their desire, the Kings mistress, was being married off to Adam MacGregor, whom the King elevated in the Scottish Peerage to Earl of Alyth moments earlier. The King served as best man, father of the bride and dispenser of the dispensation needed to marry at all. It is good to be King. It left the couple stunned. Was this to be the end of Cat's lucrative career as Kings Mistress? Would she be able to remain faithful to Adam? What was their archenemy Lauderdale going to do? Having arrived earlier Mistress Frances decides to go for a walk through the park at Noon. She meets Mistress Isobel and they renew their acquaintance. Read Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
At the same time Lord Langdon greets his ward Mistress Sabrina and they exchange Christmas gifts. Lady Darlene then comes to call on her good friend Sabrina to share the news of her engagement and ponder upon the year head. Read Waiting on One's Ward.
After the girls have left Charles has another visitor. Thomas Hamilton asks him to be his best man. They renew their acquaintance and feel a bond between honourable men. Thomas arranges for a military position for his younger brothers. Read Knocking on a Major's Door.
At 1 PM the Countess Rochford swindles her way into a well suited apartment at Hen's Toes, preferring it over her apartment in Windsor Castle. Read A Lost Reservation

At 4 PM Sabrina Rowle overheard a conversation between Viscount Malfort and a banker's servant, serving him notice that his debts were overdue and his estate would be confiscated. The man then came across her, unaware of what she had overheard and asked her for a dance at the Ball that evening. Read The Ghost of Christmas Past
Late in the Evening the painter Marino di Bambini arrives in Hen's Toes, and meets Francis de Courtenay, who commissions him for a portrait of his sister Alice. Read Frozen Florentine.
